Indoor Team Building with Interactive Posters

Interactive posters and QR codes that turn conference rooms, hallways, hotel lobbies, or a full venue into the game environment.

What this is

If you're running a corporate event indoors and want something more interactive than trivia or a sit-down session, onsite poster games turn any indoor space into a team activity. Posters with hidden clues, puzzles, and QR codes go up around your venue. Teams of five to ten move between them, solving challenges, snapping photo and video missions, and racing each other on a live leaderboard. The room looks transformed before anyone plays, and the gameplay rewards teamwork, creativity, and quick thinking. Posters fit a single conference room, a full hotel, or anywhere with wall space.

How it works

Six steps from setup to wrap-up.

  1. 1

Posters arrive pre-printed. Themed to the chosen game and right-sized for your space. Larger venues or larger groups get the same poster set repeated in multiple zones, so teams aren't crowded around the same wall.

  2. 2

Posters go up around your venue based on the space available. Conference rooms, hallways, hotel lobbies, breakout rooms, outdoor areas, beaches, library spaces, full property. Challenges have been customized to whatever your space is. Your game knows what's around it.

  3. 3

Teams form at kickoff. Five to ten players per team depending on group size. Smaller groups (under 50) usually run with teams of four to six. Larger groups (200+) often run with teams of ten ("our table"). Team sizes are flexible and Social Scavenger will recommend a size based on your headcount.

  4. 4

One device per team runs the Social Scavenger app. A briefing video sets the goal. The video can be customized to your group, and optionally introduced live by an onsite host.

  5. 5

Teams move between posters in any order. They scan QR codes, unlock challenges, solve puzzles, decode hidden clues, complete photo and video missions, and take on AI-driven twists.

  6. 6

Live leaderboard, surprise reveals, and a wrap-up. Real-time scoring throughout. Optional twists shake up the standings late-game. Wrap-up includes a leaderboard reveal, an instant slideshow, and an optional custom highlight reel.

Where it works

Posters work anywhere with wall space (or freestanding mounts). Common setups:

  • One conference room. Posters cluster on walls within a contained space.
  • Conference room plus hallways. Posters spread out for movement without leaving the venue.
  • Multiple breakout rooms. Each room becomes a station, teams rotate through.
  • Hotel lobby, ballroom, or pre-function space. Posters use the venue's existing flow.
  • Full property. Posters spread across a hotel, resort, or campus for a 90-minute property-wide game.
  • Office spaces. Open-plan, common areas, hallways, glass partitions, easels.
  • Indoor with outdoor extensions. Posters anchor indoors, but video missions and other challenges can flex outside (a beach, a courtyard, the street out front) where it makes sense.

The format scales from 20 people in one room up to 500+ across a property.

Frequently asked questions

What makes poster games different from other indoor team-building options?
Two things. First, the posters themselves carry the game, not just decoration. Each one holds clues, puzzles, photos, codes, and challenges that drive scoring. Second, the visual transformation lands before anyone plays, since the posters theme the room as soon as they go up. Most indoor formats are paper, projection, or pure-digital. Poster games create a physical environment that teams move through.
Do we need a lot of wall space?
Not really. Five to ten posters work in a single conference room. Larger games spread posters across hallways, lobbies, breakout rooms, or full venues. The Social Scavenger team plans the layout based on what your venue can offer.
Do you provide all the posters, or do we print them?
Social Scavenger provides all posters pre-printed and delivered. If you'd rather print them in-house using the digital files, that's also an option, though most clients let Social Scavenger handle it.
How early do you need to set up?
Setup is fast. Posters get placed in the room and the AV gets a quick check, often during a coffee break before the kickoff. Most setups take 5 to 30 minutes. One session ends, quick break for bathroom and emails, and you're back ready for the briefing.
Can we keep the posters after the event?
Yes, in most cases. Posters can be left for collection or shipped back, depending on the agreement. Custom-branded posters often go home with the client.
What if our space is unusual (open-plan, no walls)?
The format is flexible. Posters can mount on freestanding easels, columns, glass partitions, or stretched fabric stands. Outdoor extensions work too as long as posters are anchored. The Social Scavenger team scopes your space ahead of time and adjusts the layout.
Can we have onsite staff or is it really just the app?
It's never just the app. Every game starts with a briefing video from a Social Scavenger host, customizable to your group. Premier and above include a virtual game day team that monitors progress and handles judging. About 90% of clients run with the virtual host video and the virtual team, since it lets the budget flow into tier features and customization. If you want an in-person Social Scavenger host to introduce the game, run an icebreaker, and stay onsite for the kickoff, that's available at higher tiers for an additional fee, depending on location and date.
What if our group has done a poster game before?
The titles and content rotate. Great Scott! is decade-themed; Who Kidnapped YOUR Boss? is a custom mystery; Where in the World is the Crystal Snow Globe is a global travel adventure; bespoke games are built from scratch. Even teams that have played one poster title will find a different experience with another.
Can the posters be branded or customized?
Yes. Light branding (logo, accent colors) is included at the Premier tier. Heavier customization sits at Gold or as a custom build. A recent example: a fully jungle-themed Who Kidnapped YOUR Boss? for one client. Who Kidnapped YOUR Boss? itself features your own people as the suspects. For fully custom poster designs, that's a conversation worth having upfront so the lead time and asset production fit your event.
