Great Scott! The Time-Traveling Team Adventure

A puzzle-packed journey through pop culture's greatest hits. Race through five decades, crack codes, and climb the leaderboard.

What is Great Scott!?

Great Scott! is an indoor team building game where teams race through five decades of pop culture solving puzzles, cracking codes, and snapping creative photos and videos. Five interactive posters (one per decade, from the 80s through the 2030s) anchor the game. Teams scan QR codes, unlock challenges, decode hidden clues, and compete on a live leaderboard. It's the most popular poster-based game in the Social Scavenger lineup, and works for groups from 20 to 500+ in any indoor space.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to know pop culture from every decade to play?
No. Great Scott! mixes obvious nostalgia (movies, music, brands everyone has seen) with hidden details that reward closer looking. Teams heavy on Gen Z players and teams heavy on Gen X players both find their way to a winning score. Puzzle-solving and creativity matter more than encyclopedic knowledge.
What decades does Great Scott! cover?
Five decades: the 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s/2030s. Each decade has its own poster with era-specific clues, photos, references, and challenges.
Can Great Scott! be customized with our company theme?
Yes, in two ways. Most-requested: custom challenges (questions, photo missions, or content tied to your company history, leadership, or event theme) are available as an add-on with pricing scoped to the work. Branding (logo, accent colors) can also be added on. For a fully bespoke time-travel theme tailored to your company, that's a Custom Conference Games build.
How does Great Scott! compare to trivia or icebreaker formats?
Great Scott! is a multi-mode game, not a one-trick format. Each poster combines puzzles, codes, photo and video missions, AI twists, and head-to-head challenges. Trivia rewards what you already know. Icebreakers rely on prompts and conversation. Great Scott! rewards how a team works together to solve, decode, and create across formats. Most groups find it lands harder than either trivia or icebreaker rounds.
Will the pop culture content work for international teams or younger players?
The decade themes work best for teams familiar with North American pop culture from those eras. If your team has a strong global mix or skews very young, some references may land harder for some players than others. The format is built to compensate, since puzzle-solving and creative challenges count for as much as nostalgia recognition. For teams where global cultural reach matters most, a Custom Conference Games build can be tailored to your audience.
